Talents of all type are needed. At CLC, we can gladly make use of servant hearted people, of all ages, with both legal and non legal skills. If you feel called to serve your community, we can use you. Tell us what talent you have and we will find a way to use you in our ministry of helping people in our community to access justice. Also, if you are in need of mentoring to further develop your skills, we are glad to help match you with others who would like to help you with that too! It is our gift to you for being helpful to us.
While we encourage you to tell us any way you feel led to help us, here are the most immediate ways we will be putting people’s talents to use.
Lawyers, law students and paralegal or paralegal students can provide support in upcoming clinics or on cases that attorneys agree to take for us on a reduced fee basis.
Social workers, psychologists, teachers, etc., will help us put together a fascinating interdisciplinary model for serving clients and teaching the next generation of advocates.
Greeter & admin support: Those with good attitudes can help in ways such as answering phones, greeting clients at clinics, manning the "desk" when we open our office, pointing clients to the resources area and answering basic questions about our organization after going through a training session.
Fundraising & social media team: Communication tasks for those with high levels of professionalism.
Trades, IT, entertainers, & vendors: we also need tradespeople to help us fix and maintain our space, and to build some of the unique units we need to allow many people to work efficiently in the small spaces we are planning to use. IT is needed to help us as our web and other technology needs grow more complex. We can also use entertainers to donate talent, and vendors to donate gift cards and services for upcoming fundraisers. Thanks to our friends at Carlos' Poco Loco for working with us already to pull off our first fundraiser:)
