Statement of Non Discrimination
All persons meeting the financial guidelines are eligible to apply for services from the CLC, and all interested persons are encouraged to volunteer or apply for open positions at the CLC, regardless of race, religion, age, ethnicity, national origin, veteran status, sex, sexual orientation, or other status that may be legally protected at the time. It is generally the CLC's intent to promote an environment of inclusivity, rather than exclusivity.
While the CLC is a faith based organization, and does require its leadership to be Christian, it does not require that clients or general staff share the Christian faith. If Clients decline prayer or spiritual counseling, no questions will be asked, and no additional information of that nature will be offered. Persons of other faiths and belief systems may typically participate in providing services as well, so long as they can agree to follow CLC's guiding principle's rooted in equality, justice, dignity, and a collaborative spirit. Additionally, CLC requests that, since it is a faith-based (Christian) organization, people of other faiths not proselytize or express hostility towards Christians while on the premises of CLC or while participating in CLC events.
Note: We have tremendous appreciation to our two church host sites which are Lutheran, and without whom, we could not efficiently execute our vision. However, CLC does not want to exclude any denominations from participating and in fact, wants to expressly encourage other denominations to invite us out to speak with their congregations about the CLC, as well as to have their members utilize CLC services and to volunteer here. We particularly welcome clergy and other talented ministry workers to participate in our coaching and support teams that we think will greatly benefit clients and helping professionals alike. These persons will work side by side with non ministry professionals to assist those in the community who need help with problem solving or who could just benefit from additional emotional support from their community to get through whatever trying times they are facing. More on this to come!
